Record parcel volumes: Omniva delivered 50 million parcels last year
In 2025, Omniva delivered 50 million parcels worldwide, representing an 11% increase compared to the previous year. In the Baltic States, the company delivered a total of 36 million parcels, steadily increasing volumes across its key markets.
Parcel volumes in Lithuania grew by 10%
Overall growth was driven primarily by the international transit parcel segment, as well as increasing delivery volumes in Lithuania and Latvia.
“In 2025, we delivered more than 14 million parcels in Lithuania, which is a 10% year-on-year increase. The end-of-year period was particularly intense: in the fourth quarter alone, we delivered 4.5 million parcels in Lithuania, or 10% more than during the same period last year,” says Tadas Drunga, Head of Omniva’s team in Lithuania.
Traditionally, the most intensive parcel volumes are recorded at the end of the year, from major autumn sales through to Christmas. During the holiday peak, Omniva’s largest parcel sorting centre in Kaunas reached an all-time record, sorting up to 133,000 parcels per day.
“We also set an all-time record for deliveries to parcel machines. In a single day, we delivered more than 77,000 parcels to parcel machines in Lithuania, even though there are currently around 73,000 parcel machine compartments nationwide. These results were made possible by careful flow planning, additional delivery routes and efficient network management during the busiest period,” adds T. Drunga.
Implementing innovative solutions
Last year, Omniva also launched a crowd delivery project, enabling crowd couriers to deliver parcels on a flexible schedule and earn additional income.
“We see strong interest in this model across all Baltic States. The support of crowd couriers helped ensure smooth operations during peak periods and balance team workloads,” says Martti Kuldma, CEO of the Omniva Group.
Both consumer surveys and company data show that parcel machines remain the most popular parcel delivery method in the Baltic States. When choosing a service provider, one of the most important criteria for customers is a convenient parcel machine location close to home or work.
“This year, we will continue expanding our parcel machine network in Lithuania. Our goal is to be closer to people, which is why we are starting to deploy community parcel lockers in villages and smaller towns, near apartment buildings, bus stations and petrol stations,” says M. Kuldma.
With the landowner’s consent, a community parcel locker can be installed in just 15 minutes. These lockers can be placed almost anywhere, as battery-powered units do not require an internet connection or connection to the electricity grid. Despite their compact size and simple installation, they provide the same reliable service as standard parcel machines.
