New “Omniva” Logistics Centre Opens in Klaipėda

On 5 December, a new logistics facility of the international logistics and parcel delivery company Omniva was officially completed and opened in the Klaipėda Free Economic Zone (FEZ). The new facility will enable the company to process parcel flows arriving from the Port of Klaipėda and other regions with significantly greater efficiency.

This year, Omniva established a modern 1,330 sq. m logistics centre designed to maximise operational speed. The new building’s infrastructure allows staff to prepare approximately 2,500 parcels in under 30 minutes, while the layout enables couriers to depart for delivery routes with exceptional speed.

With this new centre, Omniva will ensure efficient process management across Klaipėda district and within a radius of roughly 100 kilometres.

According to Vilius Samoškis, Head of the Klaipėda Terminal and Partner Relations at Omniva, the project in the Klaipėda FEZ marks a consistent strategic step that reflects both rising customer expectations and ongoing developments in the logistics market.

“Following the opening of Omniva’s logistics centre in Kaunas, Klaipėda has become the first region in Lithuania where a branch has moved into premises fully adapted for modern logistics processes. The strategically chosen location met all of our criteria for a logistics centre. We are grateful to the Klaipėda FEZ team for their swift execution, attention throughout the project, and customer-oriented flexibility,” Samoškis noted.

He added that the efficiency of the new logistics centre is driven by simplicity: three clearly defined terminal functions and a layout that optimises workflows and ensures smooth parcel movement. As a result, shipments and cargo will be quickly sorted and prepared for dispatch, enabling the company to continue growing together with the Klaipėda region.

“In the Klaipėda region, we process approximately two million parcels per year. Such improvements are highly significant for our customers, as they help ensure service quality and seamless parcel delivery. This is particularly important as the e-commerce sector continues to grow rapidly and parcel volumes keep rising,” Samoškis added.

The new Omniva facility is located at 18 Pramonės Street in a 2,150 sq. m warehouse and administrative building developed this year by UAB Logipark, representing an investment of €2 million.

According to Eimantas Kiudulas, CEO of the Klaipėda FEZ, the transport, logistics, and warehousing sector has historically been strong within the free zone. The arrival of new industry leaders with modern infrastructure will continue to create added value for businesses, residents, and employees.

“The arrival of a recognised international brand operating in a strategically important sector is always a positive signal for current and potential investors in the Klaipėda FEZ business community. We are pleased that Omniva, a company oriented toward speed and efficient processes, has chosen the Klaipėda FEZ, an environment built on the same value, as its new business home,” Kiudulas said.
