Omniva expands its Crowd Delivery model to three more cities in Lithuania
International logistics and technology company Omniva is expanding its Crowd Delivery model in Lithuania, launching it in Klaipėda, Panevėžys and Šiauliai. Crowd couriers joining the network can independently choose when and where to deliver parcels, allowing the company to organise its services more flexibly. Crowd Delivery is part of Omniva’s strategy to introduce innovation-driven solutions and adapt to the growing flows of e-commerce.
The Crowd Delivery model operates in a similar way to food delivery platforms. Crowd couriers select delivery routes and plan their working time independently. The model is not intended to replace Omniva’s traditional courier workforce but rather to help the company flexibly increase delivery capacity.
“Last year in Lithuania we recorded parcel volumes that were around 10% higher compared to the previous year. This means we must grow together with the market and offer innovative, customer-oriented delivery solutions. Crowd Delivery provides exactly this opportunity and helps ensure both speed and quality of service,” says Solveiga Špakauskaitė, Omniva’s Head of Delivery in Lithuania.
The Crowd Delivery model is already operating in Vilnius and Kaunas, where nearly 100 crowd couriers have joined the network.
Crowd couriers must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driving licence, their own vehicle, and a certificate of individual activity or a business licence. Lithuanian language skills are also required.
