One in ten Omniva courier deliveries in the Baltics is now coordinated through its Crowd Delivery network

Since the beginning of 2026, more than 110,000 courier deliveries in Lithuania have been coordinated through Crowd Delivery, the open courier network platform developed by international technology and logistics group Omniva. The platform assigns parcels to available couriers in real time, allowing Omniva to flexibly scale its delivery capacity. Today, one in ten of the company’s courier deliveries across the Baltics is coordinated through the Crowd Delivery network.

In Lithuania, around 220 couriers have joined the network across the country’s five largest cities – Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai and Panevėžys. Across the Baltics, the network brings together nearly 800 couriers, with the platform coordinating around 50,000 parcel deliveries each month in nine cities.

“Customer needs and expectations are constantly evolving – people expect delivery to be flexible and fit around their daily lives. Our open courier network allows us to respond quickly to changing demand while maintaining reliable delivery. Because we develop the platform ourselves, we can continuously improve it based on insights from both customers and couriers,” says Juhan Kaalep, Product Manager at Omniva.

The platform is continuously developed based on customer behaviour and operational data. Features such as redirecting a parcel to a parcel locker or viewing an estimated delivery time give customers greater control over their deliveries. As a result of these improvements, more than 90% of parcels are successfully delivered on the first attempt, with the rate exceeding 95% in some cities. This helps reduce repeat delivery attempts, gives customers greater flexibility and improves the efficiency of the overall delivery process.

The open courier network is one example of how Omniva uses technology and innovation to strengthen its competitiveness. By combining software solutions, operational data and a flexible delivery model, the company is building a reliable and customer-focused parcel delivery network across the Baltics that can adapt more quickly to changing customer needs.

As the platform expands, Omniva continues to welcome new couriers to its open courier network. Anyone aged 18 or over with a valid driving licence, their own car and either an individual activity certificate or a business licence can join. Proficiency in Lithuanian is also required. Registration is available here.

Omniva launched its open courier network as a pilot project in Latvia and Estonia in 2025 to provide additional delivery capacity as parcel volumes fluctuate. Following a successful pilot, the platform was gradually expanded across all three Baltic countries. Today, the open courier network complements Omniva’s traditional courier network, giving the company even greater flexibility to respond to changing customer needs.
