Stay alert: scammers are posing as Omniva courriers
International logistics and technology company Omniva has recently received reports from residents about scam calls in which Russian-speaking individuals pose as Omniva couriers and ask for personal identification numbers and other personal information, claiming it is needed to deliver a parcel or letter.
In one reported case, scammers claimed to be delivering a letter from Sodra, Lithuania’s State Social Insurance Fund Board, although Omniva does not deliver correspondence on behalf of this institution.
“We would like to remind everyone that Omniva couriers do not ask for personal identification numbers or other sensitive information over the phone. If you receive a suspicious call, we recommend contacting our customer service team directly to verify the information,” says Liepa Žvaliauskaitė, Omniva Communications Specialist.
Anyone who has fallen victim to scammers or disclosed their personal information should contact the police as soon as possible.
