WHICH GOODS ARE PROHIBITED?

  • Explosives
- Fireworks, Firecrackers. Ammunition, Gunpowder. Flares.
- Inert explosives.
 
  • Compressed Gases
- Propane tanks, Diving tanks, Aerosol spray cans, Butane gas, Fire extinguishers.
 
  • Flammable Liquids
- Lighters, Lighters fuel, soil paints, wood varnishes and enamels-solvert-based, Adhesives, Perfumes and aftershaves, Nail varnish, polish and gel, etc.
 
  • Flammable Substances
- Matches, Charcoals.
 
  • Oxidizing Substances
- Pool chemicals, Hydrogen Poroxide, Bleach.
 
  • Toxic and infections Substances
- Pesticide, Agricultral chemicals, Mercury compounds, Bacteria, Viruses.
- Any Poisonous substances.
- Whole blood and components of blood.
 
  • Radioactive materials
- Radioactive wastes, Radioactive sources, Smoke detectors.
 
  • Corrosives
- Wet batteries, Mercury, Hydrochloric acid.
- Aggressive substances, e.g. cleaning liquids or battery fluids.
- All kind off Acids.
 
  • Miscellaneous Dangerour Goods
- Magnetized goods, Dry ice, Lithium batteries.
 
  • Weapons and parts thereof, including Balloons filled with tear gas and nerve gas.
  • Any replicas of the guns, ammunition, or other military equipment.
  • Narcotic drugs and other psychotropic substances and medicinal products containing them.
 
  • Living or dead animals
- Excluding bees, leeches, silkworms, parasites of pests, and flies of the family Drosophilidae, provided that special conditions are met.
  • Poisonous plants.
  • Tobacco and tobacco products, smokeless tobacco products, euphoriants.
  • Any non dangerous liquids without clear marking on their packing indicating their nature.
  • Money (i.e. coins and banknotes in circulation) and securities.
  • Counterfeit and pirated goods.
  • Obscene or immoral objects and publications (material with pornographic or erotic content).
  • Perishable substances or substances requiring a special storage temperature (including foodstuffs which require a refrigerator or freezer for storage).
  • Items which, due to their properties or packaging, may endanger the recipient of the parcel and logistics and postal employees, smear or damage other parcels, postal equipment, or the property of third parties.
  • Other items and substances the import or export prohibition or restriction of circulation of which is provided for in other legislation.
  • Medical drugs:
- It is prohibited to send and receive medical drugs with international postal consignments, if one of the parties involved is a legal person, e.g. an internet shop.
 

WHEN DO SPECIAL CONDITIONS APPLY FOR A POSTAL CONSIGNMENT?

 
BATTERIES

The postal consignment of lithium metal / alloy and Lithium ion / polymer batteries or cells contained in equipment is accepted for sending on a following conditions:

  • Each package must contain no more than four cells or two batteries installed in or connected to equipment/devices.
  • The maximum net quantity of cells or batteries is 5kg per package.
  • Watt-hour rating must not exceed 20Wh per cell or 100Wh per battery.
  • The lithium content must not be more than 1g per cell or 2g per battery.
  • Cells and batteries must be protected against short circuit.
  • The equipment containing cells or batteries must be packed in strong rigid packaging and must be secured against movement within the outer packaging and packed to prevent accidental activation.
  • The sender's name and return address must be clearly visible on the outer packaging.
  • It is forbidden to send equipment with damaged, recalled or faulty batteries.
  • If there is a maximum of four lithium cells or two lithium batteries, installed in equipment.

Australia, Estonia, El Salvador, Gibraltar, Georgia, Hong Kong, Japan, Canada, Korea, Lithuania, Latvia, Malaysia, Monaco, Mongolia, Norway, Portugal, French Polynesia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Finland, Switzerland, Chile, Turkey, New Zealand

 

Alkaline metal, nickel metal hydride (NiMH), nickel cadmium (NiCd), zinc-air and zinc chloride batteries sent without equipment / devices (Including D, C, 9V, AA, AAA and AAAA alkaline batteries) They must be new and sent unopened in their original retail packaging, surrounded with cushioning material e.g. bubble wrap.

 
ACCEPTABLE:
Can be send to the countries listed above.

LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES (LI-ION)

Rechargeable batteries used in products such as:

  • Laptops;
  • Mobile phones;
  • MP3 players;
  • Portable DVD players;
  • GPS devices;
  • Cameras;
  • Battery-powered tools, etc.

LITHIUM METAL BATTERIES

Non-rechargeable batteries used, for example, in small portable devices:

  • Clocks;
  • Thermometers;
  • Calculators;
  • Remote controls (car remotes/keys);
  • Spare batteries for electronic devices, etc.
NB! Lithium batteries are dangerous because under certain conditions they can overheat and catch fire!
 
UNACCEPTABLE

Batteries exceeding the permitted size/capacity limits:

  • Electric bicycles;
  • Electric wheelchairs;
  • Small generators;
  • Batteries not installed;
  • No batteries installed in the phone;
  • No batteries installed;
  • Batteries sent separately.

 

CONSIGNATION OF VALUABLES
Send coins, bearer securities, traveller’s cheques, precious metals and stones as well as other precious goods as a consignation of valuables (Standard parcel service) or insure the parcel.

 

 
TOBACCO AND ALCOHOL
Within the European Union, private individuals can transfer alcohol or tobacco products tax-free only for personal use, irregularly and in small quantities.
NB! It is forbidden to send alcohol of 24° or stronger anywhere by mail, because packages containing strong alcohol are not allowed on board the plane.
Tobacco and alcohol products delivered in large quantities on a regular basis are treated as sales of goods and excise duties must be paid upon receipt.
Whether it is a non-commercial or commercial quantity, the customs officer of the destination decides and takes responsibility.

 

 
LIVING ANIMALS

All living things must be packed in specially designed containers that prevent them from being damaged and escaping from the packaging.

The sender is obliged to mark the shipment with the special marking "CAUTION. LIVE ANIMALS" ("ANIMAUX VIVANTS" for international shipments).

Shipping is not allowed to those countries – Austria, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden.
